Why I Built Sales to Freedom University
I used to believe in the American Dream the way most of us are taught to. Get the degree, land the career, and you'll be safe. I was on that path, working toward a degree in a field known for a $150K salary.
Then, right as I graduated, my dream company laid off 3,000 people because they simply weren't needed anymore. That shook something loose in me. I started digging and realized how common this actually was. Over 100,000 people lose their jobs every quarter in this country.
What I had been told was safe and secure wasn't safe or secure at all. So I went looking for something else.
I explored the medical route, and while shadowing a surgeon in the exact role I thought I wanted, he told me he made $300K a year and couldn't even enjoy it. He said that while we were talking, on vacation with his wife and kids, because his job called him in anyway. That was the moment I realized I didn't have a dream job. I had a dream lifestyle.
I found sales next. Door to door, B2B, promotional events. It was the most money I had ever made. Then I saw I could scale it further by teaching what I knew, and my top students were earning $4K a week within three weeks of working with me.
